Meryl Streep brings the audience to tears, Sandra Bullock breaks out a little German and Robert Downey Jr delivers one of the most hilarious acceptance speeches the Golden Globes has ever seen!
? Check out a list of the Golden Globe winners!
Michael C Hall - Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series (Drama)
Although John Lithgow's speech for his role in 'Dexter' is first in the video, don't give it a skip. Lithgow is a class act.
Michael C. Hall ? who was nominated for four Golden Globe awards for his role in 'Dexter' before he finally bagged this one ? has been fighting a private battle with cancer. The actor revealed last week that he had been diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma ? a treatable cancer of the lymphatic system. He accessorised his tux with a beanie, and seemed upbeat throughout his speech ? although his wife and co-star Jennifer Carpenter was on the verge of tears. Watch his acceptance speech below.
Sandra Bullock - Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture (Drama)
Sandra Bullock is one of the queens of the romantic comedy ? but it was her performance in the drama 'The Blind Side' is the one that finally earned her a Golden Globe. She was also nominated in the best comedy actress category, but lost out to Meryl Streep, and has previously been nominated for comedy films 'While You Were Sleeping' and 'Miss Congeniality'. Watch her emotional acceptance speech below, where she breaks out a little German.
Robert Downey Jr - Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture (Comedy)
Hands down the best acceptance speech of the night. 'Sherlock Holmes' star Robert Downey Jr kicks off his acceptance speech with "First of all I'd like to thank Susan Downey for telling me that Matt Damon was going to win so bother to prepare a speech". He constructs his speech by "not thanking" people, and pokes fun at 'Avatar', his sordid past and the rest of the winners. A must-watch.
