According to an insider, "She'd rather be a more central part of the movie." A part that would require, er, acting? Might I suggest Meg refer to my advice above re. settling this using a bag.
Confidence, and less sense than a bale of hay is blessed with — a popular combination with pretty young things in Hollywood at the moment, it seems...
Heeere comes Katherine Heigl! And, in a surprise to absolutely no-one, she's moaning about something she's working on again.
I'm not sure whether Heigl is aware that she earns a genuinely obscene amount of money for her work, which is, if one were to stop and think for a moment, a lot less gruelling than being, you know, a real doctor.
Still, Kathy is not happy about having to have been on set for 17 hours, once, while shooting the latest season of 'Grey's Anatomy' recently. And, yes, this is the very same actress who complained, endlessly, just a season or two ago, about not being in enough scenes or being central enough to the plot.
"Our first day back was Wednesday," whinges Heigel, "and, I keep saying this — because I hope it embarrasses them — 17 hour day. I think it's cruel and mean." And ungrammatical.
And, ooh yes, super mean! Because she'd totally work that 17-hour, much-shorter-than-real-doctors-often-have shift, if they paid her tens of thousands of dollars for every episode.
Oh. Wait.
But there are some celebrities in LalaLand still possessed of a little sense. Despite the stream of actors more than happy to desecrate whatever cinematic classic they can get their self-adoring little paws on — there is an occasional star who has the class to pay tribute to the greats, rather than ruin them for a generation of cinema-goers.
The illustrious Dame Julie Andrews identified Cameron Diaz — with whom she co-starred as a voice on 'Shrek' — as her pick to reprise her own amazing turn in 'The Sound of Music', should the 1965 musical ever be remade.
But not even an endorsement for the original was enough to get Diaz to jump on the remake bandwagon.
"I don't know if I would do it because that is one of those awe-striking moments," says an appropriately awed Diaz. "Julie is amazing and I don't know if I could follow an act like that. I worked with her on Shrek. I got to spend some time with her during the press tour and she is just the epitome of grace and elegance, so I'm very flattered that she even said that."
And, finally, rather lower down the celebrity-grace totem-pole — the aftermath of Kiefer Sutherland's alleged headbutting of a fashion designer, in defence of Brooke Shield's honour, even though Brooke herself says it was never offended.
Actually, it's not really an 'aftermath' at all, since Kiefer's not even going to be charged for the bizarre incident.
Apparently, the Manhattan District Attorney decided to nix Sutherland's trial because it was too small an incident to warrant trying Kiefer for any kind of criminal behaviour.
Really? If only I'd known this sooner! Soon as I'm back in New York next month I'm totally going to start headbutting people who annoy me. This is so exciting! I'm off to go make a list of deserving recipients...
