The pair are signed up to play an upper-crust couple who find that one of the people who came to view their showhouse never left... in the imaginatively titled 'Open House' (which, incidentally, is written by Anna's brother).
I think their one saving grace will be that they're neither of them terribly big stars. Paquin did win that Best Supporting Actress Oscar, but that was back when she was just 11 (for 'The Piano'). Now, if we could just get Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes in the same film... how could it fail to be a hit?!
On to another celeb whose partner is also semi-famous — Arnold Schwarzenegger. The Governator is, of course, married to Kennedy family-descendant and mildly-well-known-journalist Maria Shriver.
I'm not sure how jolly things are in California's first family at the moment, given that Arnie's recently had to publicly remonstrate his wife for breaking the no-cellphone-while-driving law.
But Arnie's sure to get some love from the all stars living in his state, with the new bill he's just signed into law.
Celebs could have been forgiven for wondering what good it was having one of their own in power, since he hasn't really done anything famous-people-friendly. They're wondering no more, though... Schwarzenegger's is now ushering in a slew of new paparazzi-controlling laws.
This first one allows stars to sue tabloids that use photos knowing they weren't legally obtained, and it provides for fines of up to $50,000 (over R360,000) for paps who take or sell unauthorised snaps of a celeb or their kids engaged in "personal or familial activity."
Should be interesting to watch how this plays out. Personally, I think this kind of law is long overdue. You only have to think of the number of stars who've been in car crashes caused by paparazzi chasing them, or who're scared so much as to leave their own houses for fear of the flash-bulb hordes outside.
Really, there should be no love for the photo vultures.
I imagine it's not just celebs who're thrilled about this, though. Come next January, when the law goes into effect, there'll be a lot of very happy lawyers, too.
