Writer-director Rob Hardy will be behind the camera for the second incarnation of 'Stomp the Yard'.

Titled 'Stomp the Yard 2: Homecoming', the film is set to start production next month. The main actor Columbus Short is still in negotiations on whether he will come back to reprise his role of DJ, a master street dancer.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film will be produced by Short and Will Packer's company Rainforest.

Hardy is familiar with the franchise, having served as an executive producer on 2007's 'Stomp the Yard', which earned $74 million worldwide.

Hardy has directed episodes of 'Criminal Minds' and 'ER', as well as little known films like 'The Gospel' and 'Trois'.
