Since winning a singing competition aged nine, Samantha Gunn has come a long way, releasing her debut album 'Do You Know Who I Am' late last year.

We get to know her a little better.

I'm a fun, loving and ambitious person with a zest for life!

What's your most well-worn piece of clothing?

My skinny jeans.

What possession would you rescue first from a fire?

I'm sure everyone says this but definitely my cell phone and my digital camera with all my photos on it.

What book are you reading?

I'm not really that into books but you?ll always find me with a good magazine in hand.

What's your favourite movie of all time?

'The Notebook'

What music do you play when you're sad?

Anything, as long as it makes me happy again!

What music do you play when you're happy?

Some good house tunes to get me dancing.

What's the most embarrassing CD in your collection or song on your iPod?

'A Whole New World' from the Disney movie 'Aladdin'. I still love that song.

What song do you wish you'd written?

'Hot 'n Cold' by Katy Perry or 'Big Girls Don't Cry' by Fergie

What do you always order at a restaurant?

The most fattening dessert?.

What's your pet hate?

Dirty feet!

What do you most love about SA?

The vast variety of people and their different cultures. And the climate of course.

What do you most dislike about SA?

The vicious crimes that are out of control.

Who's your dream date?

Justin Timberlake, yummy.

Who's your worst nightmare date?

Zuma? ha ha ha

What corner of the earth would you most like to see?

The icy cold Antarctica.

Who's your hero?

My parents are definitely my biggest heroes because they have been there for me no matter what and have taught me all that I know today.

What do you look for in a friend?

Honesty, loyalty and we must have some things in common.

What's been your strangest showbiz experience?

At a competition when I was about nine, I walked onto stage to sing and my song wouldn't play. I stood there for about five minutes before running off stage crying only to be called back a minute later to sing. Still half distraught with tears running down my face I sang my little heart out and won! With smudged make-up and all?

What are your hopes and dreams for 2009?

My dream for 2009 is to keep on singing and sharing my music with the world, to challenge myself and overcome obstacles in the best way that I can.
