It all started with an entry on the Computicket website listing The Killers performing at a Cape Town wine farm during December.

The event, discovered on the ticket booking website on Tuesday 11 August, revealed that the 'Human' hitmakers were playing at the Val De Vie Wine and Polo Estate on 6 December, with bookings set to open on 14 August.

A source at the venue confirmed she had also heard news of the forthcoming show and we are currently awaiting confirmation of the event details.

However the event was removed from the Computicket website later on Tuesday.

A source close to Big Concerts, responsible for most of the major shows in South Africa, explained of the original listing: "It was a mistake on Computicket's side I am afraid."

"Although [Big Concerts] were in negotiation on this nothing was ever confirmed, so it has been removed off the site."

Subsequently a source at the Las Vegas band's local record company would neither deny nor confirm the rumours: "Nothing [is] official at the moment. We're expecting an announcement within the next two weeks."

The band, fronted by Brandon Flowers, are currently promoting their third album 'Day and Age' with shows in the US during September. In November they are set to take their hits like 'Human' and 'Mr Brightside' to South America with shows scheduled for Mexico, Peru, Columbia, Argentina and Chile.
