Yvonne Chaka Chaka is in America recording a song with Will.I.Am.

The local musician, who is dubbed the princess of Africa, is collaborating with the Black Eyed Peas' frontman for her upcoming Homeland tour.

The tour will see her sharing stages with top South African musicians like Sipho "Hotstix" Mabuse, Lira and the St Stithians college marimba band.

Chaka Chaka, who is also Unicef's Roll Back Malaria Goodwill Ambassador said the song will be recorded between today and tomorrow.

The 'Umqombothi' hitmaker said her fans will be able to buy the song on the internet.

The singer is set to return home on Wednesday before her gig at Sun City on 6 March.

Speaking about the musicians featured in the concert recently Chaka Chaka said: "Every function that I do he's [Sipho "Hotstix" Mabuse] always there. He fights for women and children.

"And I thought of bringing a young musician as well, Lira, and we're going to use a marimba band from St Stithians School. These are young children. As UNICEF goodwill ambassador, I'm not using them, I'm empowering them."

Chaka Chaka has also invited first ladies from five different countries who will join her in the fight against Malaria and HIV/Aids.
