Britney Spears is set to reveal all the sordid details of her recent antics in a new television show.

The songstress has made a deal with MTV to make a documentary exposing the truth about her mental illness and the troubles in her family life.

Industry insiders, however, fear that the documentary could turn out the be "car crash television", as Spears has in recent times engaged in rather risque behaviour such as a lesbian affair with her PA Shannon Funk, shaving her head, attacking a car with her umbrella and doing two stints in rehab.

Spears' family is reportedly livid over her decision to make the documentary, with father Jamie and ex-husband Kevin Federline desperately trying to dissuade the songstress.

A source revealed: "Britney's dad is furious. He thinks it's a big mistake and doesn't want anything to do with it. But Britney thinks it will help her custody battle for her two sons."

Spears' mother is also said to be trying to talk her out of doing the show, though it is rumoured the singer wants to use it to get back at her mother for writing her tell-all book, 'Through The Storm: A Real Story of Fame and Family'. There is also speculation that Spears wants the documentary to be released before her mother?s book so that she can reveal her side of the story first.

A family friend added: "This could turn out to be the biggest car crash moment of all time."
