Pete Doherty 'died' and had to be revived after a suspected drugs overdose.

The Babyshambles frontman was treated by medics after his heart stopped beating following an alleged drugs binge.

Despite his near death experience, Doherty did perform at NonStop in Graz, Austria, four hours late last Thursday.

Playing down the event, Doherty (29), said: "There was some minor problem but it's a secret. Nothing bad though ? I'm still alive."

Paramedics were called to the farmhouse of Doherty's promoter Bettina Aichbauer where the troubled singer was staying, after he passed out and failed to regain consciousness.

The rocker reportedly refused to be taken to hospital for more treatment, and went on to play a 45-minute set.

The concert was held to launch an autobiographical film the singer shot over the last eight months.

The movie is said to include revelations about Doherty's two-year relationship with British supermodel Kate Moss, but once the singer took to the stage he refused to show the footage saying his laptop had broken.
