Britney Spears has thanked her dad for getting her on the road to recovery.
The 26-year-old under the guidance of her father Jamie, who is also her court-appointed carer until the end of the year, has given up drinking and partying excessively, and has instead hired the services of a personal trainer, booze counsellor, chef and lifestyle coach.
Spears said in The Daily Star: "My father saved my life. I probably wouldn?t be here if it wasn't for him.
"I've not always been a good daughter, but he basically gave up his job and his life to look after me at a time when I wasn't even sure I wanted to go on living. I owe him my life."
Jamie (56), who also battled an alcohol addiction in the past, has formatted a list of rules, which he calls the 12 steps to recovery. These include removing all alcohol from her home, curbing her spending and staying indoors more.
