Britney Spears has settled the lawsuit with the photographer whose foot she ran over.

Court records filed in Los Angeles show a settlement notice was filed on Monday but the records don't disclose the terms of the agreement.

Ricardo Mendoza sued the pop singer in May accusing her of assault, battery and negligent driving when she ran over his foot in Beverly Hills in October 2007.

TMZ, who employed Mendoza at the time, auctioned his tyre-stained sock and donated the proceeds to charity.

Two hours prior to the incident with Mendoza, Spears had lost custody of her two sons.

The singer's single '3' is currently number one on the Billboard charts and she's since regained visitation rights.
