Robbie Coltrane, the Scottish actor who plays Rubeus Hagrid in the Harry Potter movies, is worried about the looming end of the blockbuster film series ? and of the regular income it provides.
"I think the last few days are gonna be quite tough," he said, referring to filming on the last instalment of the worldwide hit movie franchise, 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows'.
"It's funny; I was talking to a few of the adults (on set) about this," he told the Radio Times weekly magazine. "And we were all going ? 'Yeah, it's gonna be tough on the kids ...'
"Then eventually we were all, to a man and woman, saying: 'Yeah, it's gonna be pretty tough for me too'," added the 59-year-old.
Coltrane, whose early career included stand-up comedy, has had a long and successful film career including roles in Bond movies 'Goldeneye' and 'The World Is Not Enough' as well as blockbusters like 2004's 'Ocean's Twelve'.
The sixth 'Harry Potter' film, 'Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince', was a huge box office hit this year, taking more than half of North America's total weekend ticket sales after its US release.
'Deathly Hallows', the last book in J.K. Rowling's worldwide bestselling series, is being made in two parts as a film, the first of which is due for release next year, with the last Potter film due in cinemas in 2011.
In another recent interview, he was frank about the reasons for lamenting the end of the Potter movies.
"I'm no George Clooney," he told Scotland's Daily Record newspaper. "I certainly don't have to beat a path to the breakfast table every morning through a mountain of scripts.
"I regret the ending of Harry Potter for the obvious reasons of saying goodbye to a bunch of people with whom I've become very friendly over the years, but also because I will be giving up a regular income.
"You don't get too much of that in the world of acting," he said.
