Clerissa Bester, an actress in the popular local soap opera '7de Laan', has been admitted to the intensive care unit at Kloof Hospital in Pretoria, after being involved in a car crash.
Bester's two daughters, aged nine months and two years, were also injured in the accident.
Bester, who plays Hillside Times journalist Elsabe, collided head-on with a black Renault driven by a 23-year-old man. He died at the scene.
Police spokesperson Lynnette Erasmus said the accident took place on Saturday afternoon at about 15.30 in Centurion. The accident apparently occurred on a sharp corner on a blind rise.
Erasmus said the cause of the accident is unknown. The police are investigating a case of culpable homicide.
