Amor Vittone has revealed that her friends and family are pressurising her to walk away from her marriage to Joost van der Westhuizen.
The celebrity couple were among guests at the opening of the Southern Sun Hotel in Hyde Park, Johannesburg on Wednesday night where Vittone spoke to The Sowetan about dealing with the sex-tape scandal.
After claiming that he was not the man in the infamous video leaked to the media in February, former rugby hero van der Westhuizen finally admitted his participation last month.
He had apparently only come clean Vittone in August.
And although she says it is still painful, Vittone says that she cannot just walk away from her marriage.
"We have two beautiful kids together and seven years of marriage," she told The Sowetan. "You cannot give up on that. We are working on our relationship. We need space. It is hard to do that when the media is all over us".
When she was asked if she had forgiven van der Westhuizen, Vittone said "I wouldn't say that. I'm still hurting. It will take time. You cannot make a decision when you are still hurting but I have to keep my head up."
Vittone also denied media reports that they were living apart.
"I have never left Joost once," she said. "We have been living in the same house. We have had our ups and downs and he's made big mistakes. He lied to me. As a woman, I withdrew and I was angry but we never split up or separated."
Vittone would not say whether or not the couple were sharing a bed. "All I can say is that we are working on things and I do not give up easily," she said.
