David Hasselhoff's ex-wife has begged his fans to help save his life.
Pamela Bach has urged the star's supporters to do everything they can to persuade him to enter rehab and receive treatment for alcoholism.
David was recently hospitalised after reportedly suffering a seizure at home, and Pamela has revealed she and the couple's two daughters are devastated by his refusal to seek help.
"The despair, feeling hopeless and unable to believe that things can ever change with David's alcoholism over the years has affected our whole family," Pamela wrote. "We want our lives to be different, but nothing we have done has brought about change. We ask David's fans, supporters and handlers to take swift action to save this wonderful man's life. I have always been close to my daughters to comfort and support them as well always being there for David.
"We will be forever hurt from this cruel disease. I am grateful for our two daughters who have been incredibly brave, strong and protective souls."
David has a long history of alcohol abuse, and had reportedly been drinking before he was hospitalised during the Thanksgiving holiday last month. The 57-year-old star was rushed to Los Angeles Cedars-Sinai Medical Center after he was taken ill at home. His 17-year-old daughter Hayley dialled 911, and the call was released earlier this week.
"My dad just ... he's collapsed," Hayley says through tears. "He's standing up but he keeps falling back down ... But then he got back up and he's fine.
It's kind of scaring me."
It was initially claimed David had suffered a seizure, with further reports claiming he was put under a psychiatric hold. His lawyer denied the claims, but failed to give any further information.
In October, he went to rehab after claims he struck a doctor while drunk. He has been to clinics on two other occasions this year, and is said to have had alcohol poisoning.
