Lady Gaga tricked fans into thinking she was seriously injured when she performed covered in fake blood on New Year's Eve.
The outrageous pop star was the main attraction at a star-studded party at Miami?s LIV nightclub at the luxurious Fontainebleau Hotel. As Chace Crawford, Hayden Panettiere, Kevin Connolly, Akon and Chris Brown watched on, Gaga faked her own blood-splattered hanging during a rendition of her hit Paparazzi. Most of the crowd understood it was part of the act, but some were left horrified, believing the star was actually injured.
A source said: "People thought she was hurt and asked security after she was carried offstage if she was OK!"
The concert was Miami's hottest New Year's Eve event. Touts were selling tickets for $2,000, while hundreds of fans tried to jump the venue's fence to catch a glimpse of Gaga.
"There were at least 100 people standing on the boardwalk on the beach behind the Fountainebleau pool and Lady Gaga's stage," an onlooker told the New York Daily News newspaper. "People were trying to jump the fence. Some actually made it over and started running before security caught them."
While fans were fighting to get into the event, Hayden Panettiere spent her evening fighting off rumours she is dating Entourage star Kevin Connolly. The pair spent the night canoodling on the dance floor.
A source said: "Hayden was dancing alongside Kevin and they looked very friendly."
But a friend of the actress insisted: "They're just friends."
