Matt Damon is to play SA rugby legend Francois Pienaar in a film about the 1995 World Cup.
The 'Bourne Ultimatum' star will don the green and gold jersey in 'Human Factor', to be directed by Clint Eastwood, according to Variety magazine.
He joins Morgan Freeman who will play Nelson Mandela.
The film, to be produced in South Africa early next year, recounts the life of the former South African President after the end of apartheid and during the 1995 Rugby World Cup.
The tournament, won by South Africa, is still encapsulated by the legendary image of Mandela in a Springbok rugby jersey and cap, handing the Webb Ellis trophy to Pienaar.
Freeman received Mandela's blessing for the film which is to be based on the book 'The Human Factor: Nelson Mandela and the Game that Changed the World' by John Carlin.
