Yet another embittered Survivor jury has failed to understand the basic concept of "it's nothing personal", as the disgruntled 'Survivor South Africa: Santa Carolina' jury chose to punish telly presenter Ashley Hayden for outplaying, outwitting and outlasting them.

In a landslide vote (6-2 )they handed the title of Ultimate Survivor to former exotic dancer and club owner GiGi, despite the viewer votes tallying heavily in favour of Ashley.

Six of the jury members all still seething at the way runner-up Ashley blindsided them to reach the top voted for GiGi. Only two of her fellow tribe members, Izak Davel and ProVerb, sided with Ashley.

The "ninth jury member", the voting public, appreciated the fact that Ashley entertained with some classic Survivor gameplay, and voted in her favour.

That wasn't enough to change her fate, however.

GiGi earned R500,000 for herself and R500,000 for Hospice, the charity of her choice. She will apparently use her prize money to expand her business and "empower young women".

An additional episode of Survivor South Africa, featuring unscreened footage, will be broadcast on M-Net on Wednesday 28 April, at 19h30.
