Anna Wintour may have to start taking public transport.
The legendary editor of US style bible Vogue currently travels in a private car provided by the prestigious publication.
However, due to budget cut-backs staff at the magazine have reportedly been told they can no longer bill cars and taxis to Vogue.
"Senior people have been told they must take more subways to meetings as opposed to Town Cars to save money," a source told the New York Post newspaper.
It has been claimed the magazine's new publisher Susan Plagemann is behind the move.
She is keen to reduce unnecessary costs as the magazine market is unstable, and sees clamping down on travel as the perfect solution.
"Even associate publisher Lottie Oakley had to ride underground last week back to Vogue's Times Square offices," the source added. "A Vogue rep refused to comment,? the paper reports.
