Nicola Roberts is "obsessed" with fashion. The Girls Aloud star claims reading about new trends and designers is a compulsion for her, and she hates it if she isn't knowledgeable about a new fad.

She explained: "I'm just a girl who loves fashion. I'm obsessed to the point of having Obsessive Compulsive Disorder about clothes. If I walk out of the house and I'm not happy in an outfit, it can ruin my day. I have to change."

The 24-year-old singer ? who has her own make-up range called Dainty Doll ? added her style is constantly evolving, and she doesn't mind if she occasionally gets looks wrong.

She told Britain's Grazia magazine: "I've got completely immersed in this world of fashion. I'm looking at it, reading about it, talking about it. I'm finding my way, finding my style and whatever anyone else thinks I'm really enjoying myself.

"I've discovered this passion for 40s and 50s clothes and a fascination for all these up-and-coming designers. I'm just finding out who I am, what my style is. Everything I wear, I wear because I love it."

Donatella Versace thinks flamboyant designs are "old-fashioned". The Italian designer ? whose Versace brand is known for its extravagant, glitzy clothes ? has worked hard to create a new aesthetic for Versace, and thinks simple, clean designs with a hint of sexiness are the way forward.

She explained: "My eye has changed. Ostentation looks old-fashioned now. On a red carpet, you can be historic, but the woman of today doesn't even want to check in her baggage."

The change in Donatella's style has also impacted on her home, a Milan apartment she retreats to when she wants time away from her fashion-fuelled life.

She loves relaxing in the lavish property, which is decorated with bright colours ? including turquoise, pink and orange ? and luxury fabrics.

She explained to Britain's InStyle magazine: "Fashion shows are public, my life is public. Here, I close the door and no-one can come in. It's my treasure box. I wanted colours so rich that they would almost hide me.

"In the evening, I want to sink into a couch so deep that I forget anything that got to me during the day."

Lindsay Lohan's mother Dina is launching a shoe range.

Dina will collaborate with Long Island-based company I Love My Shoes for the line, which she has called Shoe-han.

I Love My Shoes founder and president, Robert Yeganeh, said: "She will do a radio and TV commercial and she will sit in on the casting call to find two or three hot girls we need for the commercial.

"Although she won't be the designer of the line, she'll definitely have a major influence in which direction it will go."

The 47-year-old TV personality is hoping to have some designs in US stores in time for Mothers' Day next May.

A larger collection of affordably-priced shoes is scheduled to be available by Autumn 2010.

Yeganeh added: "Dina has definitely got a good eye and she's got it together.

"She may not be followed as a fashionista but if the shoes are designed right and priced under $100 they will sell."

Dina's foray into fashion has seemingly been inspired by her actress daughter.

Last week, 'Mean Girls' star Lindsay launched her debut fashion collection at Paris Fashion Week.

Although her collaboration with Ungaro, where she is artistic advisor, was received a lukewarm reception, Lindsay insists she was thrilled by the experience.

She said: "I feel like it's pretty much a fairytale. It's certainly more than I could have ever imagined, more than I'd ever hoped for.

"I couldn't be happier. Seeing everything pulled together is simply amazing. The last five days have just been so crazy, chaotic."
