DB9 ? the gentleman

Bigger and more elegant than the Vantage, the DB9 is the most gentlemanly offering. It embodies the comfort and refinement of a true grand tourer, with the elegance that?s always been associated with the marque.

Aston Martin describes it as a synthesis of traditional craftsmanship, high-tech manufacturing, modern components and use of the finest materials.

Available as a coupe or open-top Volante, the DB9 stirs the soul with its beautiful and gracefully-curved shape.

But don't let the DB9's calm and elegant demeanour trick you into thinking it is not a full-blooded sports car at heart.

Lightweight VH construction and a perfect 50:50, front-to-rear weight distribution ensures surprising agility, while the front-mid-positioned V12 engine provides the performance to match. The 6-litre unit provides a maximum power output of 350kW at 6000rpm and a mammoth 600Nm at 5000rpm.

This gives it the ability to sprint from 0-100km/h in 4.6 seconds in manual mode, with the automatic transmission achieving this in 4.8 seconds. Both models have a claimed a top speed of 306km/h.

In keeping with its GT heritage, the DB9 was designed to be supremely comfortable. Every element of its sumptuous interior is hand-made and hand-finished by a skilled craftsman that can finish wood or leather to a far higher standard than any machine.

Naturally, the DB9 cabin is filled with the finest materials, right down to the carefully selected interior woods. While traditional in that sense, the cabin is also comprehensively equipped and includes the latest in modern technology without resorting to unnecessary controls or displays that might provide an unwanted distraction to the driver.
