The three embezzlement cases against J Arthur Brown, former chief executive of the Fidentia group, were postponed on Monday in the Cape Town Regional Court to January next year.

At Monday's proceedings before magistrate Wilma van der Merwe, at the request of senior counsel for the State, Jannie van Vuuren, the three cases were postponed to 22 January.

One of the three cases involved the Fundi and Infinity investment groups, while the second related to the Transport, Education and Training Authority (Teta).

The third case involved the Antheru Trust.

Involved with Brown in the Teta case was Teta's former chief executive, Piet Botma.

However, Brown was alone in the dock, as at previous proceedings a separation of trials had been granted.

While Brown appeared in the Cape Town Regional Court, Botma was scheduled to appear in the Randburg Regional Court.
