Flying to almost 300 destinations, British Airways’ cabin crew are ready to wish customers a Happy New Year wherever they are in the world when the clock strikes midnight on January 1, 2019.
As well as acting as chefs, waiters, paramedics and most importantly safety experts responsible for keeping everyone safe, 45 different languages are spoken by our cabin crew and more than 2,000 of them speak at least one other language.
In addition to hundreds of crew that can fluently speak French, Spanish, German and Italian, we also have speakers of Finnish, Punjabi, Mandarin, Korean, Portuguese, Afrikaans and sign language.
Karen Slinger, British Airways Head of Cabin Crew, said: “Good service is the same in every language, and we know that our customers value the efforts our cabin crew go to, to make sure they have an enjoyable and comfortable experience when they fly with us.”
“Our cabin crew have looked after more than 45 million customers this year, across 300,000 flights, and we look forward to welcoming even more travellers on board in the New Year.”
