First Witness Takes Stand at Pastor Omotoso Trial

PORT ELIZABETH: The first witness has taken the stand at the trial of Pastor Timoty Omotoso and two co-accused Lusanda Solani and Zukiswa Sitho.

The court case is being heard at the High Court in Port Elizabeth.

Omotoso faces charges relating to trafficking for sexual purposes and racketeering to rape and sexual assault.

The 22-year-old woman cried on the stand as she recounted how Omotoso used to briefly speak to her on the phone and ask about her about dating when she was 14-years-old.

She is the first of the 49 witnesses expected to testify during the trial.

The trial continues.
