South African music lovers can now enjoy listening to their favourite songs on YouTube Music without being interrupted by adverts.

This is because Google has announced the launch of YouTube Music locally.

Brendyn Lotz, a journalist with HTXT, says the new music streaming service offers fans music videos, official albums, singles, live performances, and covers from YouTube.

“I was telling some friends that I don’t know where to go to get live music concerts anymore, so YouTube Music and YouTube Premium gives you a way to get that content once again., says Lotz.

Lotz says YouTube Music is available for free but YouTube Premium will cost you R59 a month and it allows you to download as well as removing ads.

Lotz continues: “If you have Google Play Music you automatically get a subscription to YouTube Music Premium.”
